Are you out of school but don’t have a single skill with which to start a business? A presidential Skilling Initiative for females between 14-35 yrs with or without formal education is on.
The skilling project is being piloted in Kampala in Wandegeya KCCA market and Subway along Nile Avenue and will later spread to other parts of the country. President Museveni is expected to officially launch it on Friday June 2, 2017 at the Wandegeya training centre.
Instructors at the centre say the 450 beneficiaries were enrolled on a walk-in basis and from communities that can easily access Wandegeya. The 6 month full time training gives Uganda’s women one skill at a time after which they can self-employ or supply skilled labor to a number of factories.
