Meet Rising star NamRestyFlower

LinkmeUg brings you Uganda’s rising R&B singer NamRestyFlower on her passion and journey in Uganda’s music industry.

Personal Life

NamRestyFlower: My name is Namugwanya Resty Flower born to Mr Kato Peter and Mrs Namutebi Rose on 28 of July in a family of five.

I went through St. Elizabeth Kindergarten, KCU/Primary and Mapeera Primary, Kampala students secondary both O and A Levels, YWCA  as a beautician. I am also a qualified counselor.

Music journey

NamRestyFlower: I started singing as a child. My Mum and dad too sing in Church so I guess it came to me naturally. I have been singing since Primary three and over the years have received recognition at school through certificates and awards.

After high school I began backing artists in studios and singing along side live bands where i got the confidence to sing on my own.

What inspired you into music?

NamRestyFlower:  My Mum is my greatest inspiration for music; she has an amazing voice. She is always encouraging me.

Projects done so far.

NamRestyFlower: I have recorded one song called KENKUFUNYE, written by Avion King and it was produced at Red Records, my next project is  NKAKASIZZA. My music can be found on all social media platforms @NamRestyFlower

Which artists inspire you and who would you love to collaborate with?

NamRestyFlower: Alicia keys, Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, Juliana Kanyomozi  but I would love to work with Irene Ntale, Ziza Bafana, Jeo steady, and Moze Radio.

What’s your take on the Ugandan music industry?

NamRestyFlower: It’s growing very fast, musicians are very many and the competition is stiff.

About your Love life

NamRestyFlower: Am currently dating  and I believe in love at first sight.

5 year Expectations

NamRestyFlower:  I believe I will be one of the biggest female artists not only in Uganda but in Africa as well inspiring youth with my music.

Challenges in the industry

NamRestyFlower: Promotion is still a big challenge.

A word to the upcoming artists and Youths out there.

NamRestyFlower: They should be God fearing, be patient, work hard and believe in themselves.
